CHARLESTON/ORWIG NAMED 3RD BEST SMALL BUSINESS TO WORK AT IN WISCONSIN
Jun. 1, 2010
Charleston/Orwig CEO Lyle Orwig reports:
The day began like any other Friday here at Charleston|Orwig.
The sound of bustling footsteps followed by the pitter-patter of dog paws echoed through the halls. The smell of fresh brewed coffee lingered in the air along with an undeniable sense of anticipation.
Fridays in general seem to provide a little extra excitement due to the presence of dogs, who are encouraged to accompany their owners to work, but there was still something in particular that made this Friday special - the release of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Top 100 Workplaces in Wisconsin.
We're excited to announce that Charleston|Orwig was ranked as the No. 3 best small business to work at in Wisconsin. Rankings were based on nominations and surveys from our own employees along with tens of thousands of other workers in the region.
Of the top 100, we were also named by the Journal Sentinel as the top company for business ethics. Among other acknowledgements we were recognized for Friday Dog Days, Epic Day, which allows employees to take a "day off" to volunteer at a nonprofit organization, and our delectable, free chocolates that are readily available at the front desk for employees (and conveniently "on the way" to any destination in the building).
It's a tribute to our dedicated staff (and clients) that Charleston|Orwig is where it is today. We are truly honored to receive this acknowledgement - third-party recognition is as good as it gets.
