Birmingham, Alabama - The Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF) Farm Safety Day program has been licensed to Agrium for use in South America. Agrium, now in its 11th year as a premier sponsor of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF), piloted the North American program in Argentina and Uruguay, and is now licensed for its use in South America.
Rose Lecky, manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Agrium, is excited at the opportunity to expand the program. "I think PAF has an excellent model for delivering farm safety," she says. "This agreement is a logical and cost-effective way to expand the program beyond North America. It will follow a similar model, but also be adapted to what works in other countries."
The program is currently being adjusted to fit South American cultural needs and differences. PAF is working closely with Agroservicios Pampeanos, Agrium's Retail business, in Argentina to ensure the materials and lessons are translated accurately.
"As a global company, there are many other opportunities to expand worldwide," adds Lecky. "If successful in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, then we'll work with PAF to expand elsewhere. This endeavor aligns perfectly with Agrium's mission as well as PAF's. The key is, we're reaching more children, families and rural people through this agreement."
"We are so grateful for this opportunity to work with our partners at Agrium to extend our program beyond North America. What is even more exciting is that this agreement builds the foundation to potentially further expand programming in other countries, helping us reach more children and educating them about farm safety," says Randy Bernhardt, chief administrative officer for PAF.
The program is currently licensed for use in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
