Birmingham, Alabama - Cindy Lengel-Russ has joined the staff of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF) as a development specialist, working in Inverness, Florida.

Russ earned her BS in Social Work from Manchester University and a Master's degree in education from Nova Southeastern University. After teaching for 6 years, she worked as a Center Director for Bright Horizons Family Solutions at both the CitiFinancial and Moffitt Cancer Center locations during 1998-2006. Russ then spent 5 years as the Development Director at Pope John Paul II Catholic School for the Independent School District of the Diocese of St. Petersburg in Lecanto, Florida where she instituted a community event focused on the health, safety and wellbeing of young children in Citrus County. In addition, she implemented program grants and matching grant challenges. Russ began as a Development Specialist for The Progressive Agriculture Foundation in October 2014.

"We're pleased that Russ has joined the Progressive Agriculture Foundation," says Susan Reynolds Porter, acting Chief Executive Officer. "Russ has a passion for agriculture and for keeping kids safe and healthy on farms and ranches. Her background and experience, combined with her having children on a blueberry farm, make her a valuable asset to our team."

Russ will work with current and potential PAF corporate and foundation sponsors supporting the Safety Day program. She will help to expand the reach of the farm Safety Day program throughout North America.
